Scorpus provides software asset management product and adaptation services to suit the customer’s technical environment and processes.

Scorpus product is composed to suit the technical environment and requirements of software services, offshore software delivery centers and the software organizations of end-user businesses. All of them collectively termed as ‘Software Delivery Organizations’ or SDO.

Scorpus recognizes that within the SDO, there will be various roles, activities, and tools engaged to articulate and manage software assets. The articulation cycle is commonly referred to as the delivery cycle or the software development lifecycle (SDLC) governed by the solution architecture and the processes.
 

 
SDO's design, implement, and manage changes of software assets using established technology stack. The technology stack could consist of .net / J2EE development environment, requirements management, design, and testing tools. Along with the technology stack, there can be knowledge management, solution frameworks and project portfolio management tools that play help manage the delivery cycle stat to finish. The software asset creation and consumption can be within the same project/program/domain or it could be across the locations.

This includes standards based meta-data repository and plug-ins to the necessary software development and management tools along with productivity enhancing facilities like asset harvester, asset profiler, policy manager, and workflow engine.

End-result is a unified and governed software asset lifecycle management environment within the customer’s organization for the users to discover, qualify, create, consume, and change software assets.

A resource having economic value that an individual, corporation, or country owns or controls with the expectation that it will provide future benefit.

OMG’s standard reusable asset specification (RAS) defines it as:
Asset is a collection of Artifacts which provides a solution to a problem
for a given context

with rules for usage

and variability points.

Can be related to other assets
